Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers, in plain English.
This is the same approved FAQ our website assistant HAIdee answers from. If your question isn't here, a person on the team will take it from there.
Working with Mendent
Who does Mendent work with?
Mendent works with healthcare and education teams exploring better ways to run remote care or prepare to use AI, and with independent dental, medical, and wellness practices that want to improve performance without giving up ownership.
How do we explore a remote care pilot?
Start with one workflow that keeps breaking down and tell us about it on the Remote Care & Telemedicine page. Before any pilot, the parties agree on access, coverage hours, reporting, responsibilities and escalation contacts. Clinical escalation thresholds and care decisions stay with your organization.
Can we bring our own workflow to a workshop?
Yes. An H+AI workshop starts from a real workflow your team struggles with. Together we map the friction, separate the underlying requirement from the burden of the current process, and decide what is worth testing, along with an owner and a measure.
Mendent's projects
What is MyCareCompass?
MyCareCompass at mycarecompass.io is a Mendent project that shows remote care from the patient's side. A person describes their symptoms, sees likely conditions and the procedures clinicians typically order, and compares published facility prices near them. It is educational and not a medical diagnosis. It is a good place to start if you want to see remote care in action.
What is It Ain't Broke?
itaintbroke.com is Mendent's community initiative on practical technology education: free and low-cost seminars, hands-on workshops, and resources in English and Spanish. It is a good place to start if your interest is community-facing or educational, including H+AI workshop content delivered in a community setting.
Practice Performance & Autonomy
What is the Free Spend Scan?
The Free Spend Scan is a no-cost review of your supply invoices. Mendent identifies where an independent practice is likely overpaying and returns a plain-English summary of the savings opportunities we find.
How much can my practice save?
Practices in buying groups commonly save 10-20% on supplies. Every practice is different, so the Spend Scan estimates your specific opportunity before you commit to anything.
Is the Spend Scan really free?
Yes. The Spend Scan is free and comes with no obligation. If we don't find meaningful savings, we tell you that too.
Do I have to change suppliers?
No. We work with your existing suppliers wherever possible and only recommend a change when the numbers clearly favor it.
Which practices does Mendent work with?
Mendent works with independent dental, medical, and wellness practices, with an initial focus on South Florida.
How is this different from a remote care pilot?
A remote care pilot is a co-managed service for the technical problems that interrupt remote care programs. Practice Performance is consulting for independent practices: supply spending, operations, and the plan to put improvements into practice.
Practice Autonomy Blueprint
What is the Practice Autonomy Blueprint?
The Practice Autonomy Blueprint is a 2-3 week diagnostic for independent practices. Mendent analyzes your spend, overhead, and workflows and delivers a prioritized, step-by-step plan you own outright.
How much does the Blueprint cost?
The Blueprint is priced at $1,500 for solo practices and $2,500 for multi-provider practices (up to 5 providers, plus $500 per provider above 5). Multi-site practices start at $4,750, with a tailored quote after a call. All tiers are one-time fees.
What do I receive at the end?
You receive a written blueprint: spend and overhead findings, workflow maps, and a prioritized action plan, delivered in a walkthrough call with our team.
How long does the Blueprint take?
The Blueprint takes 2-3 weeks from kickoff to delivery, depending on how quickly we can pull your invoices and reports.
What happens after I order?
We reach out within one business day to arrange payment and schedule your kickoff, then get straight to work on your blueprint.
Practice Accelerator
Does Mendent take equity or a percentage of my practice?
Never. The Accelerator is a paid program, not an investment. Terms are shared transparently before you commit anything.
What does the Accelerator cost?
The application review is $150, credited in full toward program fees if you're accepted and refunded if the committee declines your application. If you withdraw your application before a decision, the fee is non-refundable. Program terms and any program fees are shared transparently at the decision stage - before you're asked to commit anything.
Who's on the review board?
The Mendent Advisory Committee: Mendent's founding partners and select advisors from medicine, dentistry, and practice operations.
What if I'm not accepted?
You'll hear directly, with the reason. Many practices start with a Free Spend Scan or the Practice Autonomy Blueprint instead - and can reapply later.
Can I apply if I already work with Mendent?
Yes. Current Blueprint or Performance Partnership clients are eligible.
Does acceptance require exclusivity?
No. You keep your vendors, your systems, and your ownership.
Still deciding where to start?
Tell HAIdee what you're weighing and she'll point you to the right page, or hand you to a person. Prefer a human from the outset? That's fine too.
